We currently have eight sites, one of which is currently operational, in our Lancashire Bowland shale gas exploration licence area. We believe that at least 200 trillion cubic feet of natural gas is trapped in the shale rock in our licence area which could be of great importance to the UK’s natural gas requirement as the country currently uses approximately 3 trillion cubic feet a year, over half of which is currently imported.
Creating jobs, investment, new skills and community initiatives as a result of shale gas exploration is very important to us and now we are operational in Lancashire we have launched our “Putting Lancashire First Commitments” as a commitment to the county of Lancashire ensuring Cuadrilla puts Lancashire first in terms of the benefits shale gas exploration has to offer.
The “Putting Lancashire First” commitments are measured with an independently audited tracker which will be published quarterly and the latest one can be viewed here.
If you would like to contact us about any of our sites please use the Speak to Us button below and call the Lancashire Community Hotline or email us.
